Manpower believes that The New World of Work can give an important boost to the challenges of the Dutch labour market. Manpower starts at home. 365/Zin has organised a try-out at 3 branches.
"Manpower foresees a major challenge in the labour market. At the same time, there is a vast potential in terms of people who could work but stay home, especially women. The government should act, with respect to childcare and cultural attitudes. However, the business community also has a responsibility to offer more flexibility in terms of workplace and hours. And to reward performance instead of attendance. Foreseeing all of this for the entire country, why not start at home? Our own working day tends to take place at the office between nine and five. We aim to change that,"
says Manpower representative Mr Frits Scholte
Manpower wants to use The New World of Work to fascinate and bond with its people, to reduce staff turnover, expand working hours, achieve savings with respect to office space and to become more customer-oriented. And all of that is perfectly feasible. Together, we decided first to organise a try-out at a couple of branches. 365/Zin organised a kick-off for all employees per branch to explain the rules of The New World of Work. It was very good of the Manpower management to attend the kick-off sessions in person and to present The New World of Work as a present to their employees. They thus showed that they believed that the new method would do well and that they trusted their people. It was then made clear to the employees that it was no longer all about 9-to-5 attendance, but about responsibility and results. Following the kick-off, 365/Zin also prepared the managers for the new way of managing. The try-outs have ended by now. And they proved hugely successful.
